She sits alone at the table, canvas and brush by her side
She doesn´t see hands aligning, waits for the time to arrive
Lifting her brush into nothing, seeking a source of delight
Blossoming somewhere within her, choked by the grey of her life
Here in the dusk, uninspired, hands of the clock ticking round
Dripping from six is the answer that soon will be found
Two drops of ink hit the water, diffuse and meet in a face
Dipping the hairs, strokes the canvas, time now has found a new place
Moving her brush without looking, fixed on the clock up above,
Whilst there, on the canvas, the face of a man that she loves
Suddenly everything changes. Suddenly all of it´s true
From far back in time comes his hand and he pulls her right through
Circus in town. Money thrown down. Spirits rise as one
Dust, fumes, costumes. Crowds, cheers, rats, beers
Cage, rage, stench, then...
Gone
Punch the air and shout, “ Hooray! ”, from the village we shall ride
We shall raise the tent again, but with time upon our side
For the moment of the year, with no populace to please but ourselves
Winding up the tension. Dreams catching fire
Spiralling higher and higher - now´s the time
Troupe has arrived, lights on the ice
She is the dancer and he is the wire
Frozen the lake, mulled wine to hand
Masks on and raiments all fall to the ground
Marron, the Ringmaster:

Green Asphalt Sweden
Green Asphalt is a Swedish prog rock project initiated by Gentle Giant collaborator Dan Bornemark. This is the first album and took just 17 years to create.

The new live EP by Ryan W. Stevenson's project reminded me, that this debut album must have been gone down the wishlist... If instrumental Canterbury stuff is your thing, this should be a no-brainer. Firmly rooted in the past (late 60s, 70s), nevertheless with a fresh sound. Guests incude The Tangent's Andy Tillison and Soft Machine's Theo Travis.

Mysterious, yet nostalgic, Isolubilia is truly an ode to the romance found in the pursuit of a mystery. Musically rich in turbulence and serenity, majesty and humbleness, this album made me feel both lonely, yet understood as an isolated individual. Perhaps we're all fellow romantics, looking up at the same night sky, trying to wring our own meaning out of the stars. I hope that pursuit never ends.
